本寺謹訂於2026年10月25日10:00 a.m.～12:15 p.m.舉行觀音菩薩出家紀念法會，法會當日恭誦《觀世音菩薩普門品》及佛前大供；誠摯邀請您參加點燈及各項功德。
觀世音菩薩在過去久遠劫前早已成佛，名為「正法明如來」，為度眾生而倒駕慈航現菩薩身，在西方極樂世界幫助阿彌陀佛弘揚佛法，也到他方世界去廣度眾生，十方世界無處不遍、無處不有，應以何身得度者，即現何身而為說法，尤其與娑婆世界的眾生特別有緣。其發了大心，凡是有苦惱的眾生稱其名號，即隨時現前，故名觀世音；又名觀自在，謂自利利人皆能得大自在也。
Dear Dharma Friends,
Chuang Yen Monastery will hold a ceremony to commemorate Kuan-Yin Bodhisattva’s Renunciation Day from 10:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on October 25, 2026. We will recite The Chapter on the Universal Door of Kuan-Yin Bodhisattva from the Lotus Sutra and make a Grand Meal Offering to the Buddhas. We sincerely invite you to participate by sponsoring the lighting of a blessing lamp and other meritorious offerings.
It is believed that Kuan-Yin Bodhisattva had already attained Buddhahood countless kalpas ago as the Tathagata of the Brightness of True Dharma. Out of great compassion and the aspiration to liberate sentient beings, Kuan-Yin Bodhisattva returned to manifest as a bodhisattva. In the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, the Bodhisattva assists Amitabha Buddha in teaching the Dharma and also manifests in other worlds to help liberate sentient beings.
There is no place throughout the worlds of the ten directions where Kuan-Yin Bodhisattva is not present. According to the needs of sentient beings, the Bodhisattva manifests in whatever form is appropriate to teach the Dharma and guide them toward liberation. Kuan-Yin Bodhisattva has an especially profound affinity with the beings of the Sahā World.
Having made the great vow to respond whenever suffering beings call upon the Bodhisattva’s name, Kuan-Yin is known as Kuan-Shi-Yin, “the one who perceives the cries of the world.” The Bodhisattva is also known as Kuan-Zi-Zai, “the one who contemplates with complete ease,” signifying the great freedom attained through practices that benefit both oneself and others.
