How does Dr. Paul Fulton bring these two worlds together? At age 20 he received\u00a0jukai initiation into Zen (taking refuge and receiving the precepts), and continues to practice Zen and vipassana. He earned a doctoral degree from Harvard University where he focused on comparative human development and the integration of Western and Buddhist psychology.\u00a0In the mid-1990s he helped found the\u00a0<em>Institute for Meditation and Psychotherapy<\/em> to train mental health professionals in the principles and practices of Buddhist psychology.
