The event for that day includes the chanting of the sutra \u201cThe Universal Door of Kuan Yin Bodhisattva\u201d and making offerings to the Buddha.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKuan Yin,\u201d which means, \u201cThe Observer of the sights and sounds of the world.\u201d<br \/>\nIt is believed that Kuan Yin Bodhisattva attained Buddhahood infinite kalpas ago and was named \u201cThe Tathagatha of the Brightness of True Dharma.\u201d Filled with great compassion to help others, he decided to manifest as a Bodhisattva. Kuan Yin will appear in any form in accordance with the needs of the beings who need his instruction.<\/p>\n<p>Participants could register to the office to receive blessings for themselves or for deliverance of the deceased, or to sponsor vegetarian meals for fellow participants.
