Help Wanted: Full-time Cook
The Monastery is looking for a full-time cook in the kitchen
In a traditional Mahayana Buddhist forest monastery, the kitchen official has very important role. They are responsible for the nutritional health of the monastics. Nourishing their bodies so they can practice effectively.
During Tang dynasty, two monks, Han-Shan, and Shi-De, legendary known as the presents of Bodhisattva Manjushri (Transcendent Wisdom) and Bodhisattva Samantabhadra (Universal Worthy). They served as the kitchen official in the Guo Qing Temple (Mountain Tiantai, China).
In order to practice Dharma to benefit all the sentient beings, it is important to take good care of the Sanghaʼs health. It is does not only benefit oneself, but also the others. It is a practice of both Wisdom and Compassion.
