大覺寺觀音法會

觀音菩薩妙難酬，何所以妙？大覺寺觀音法會為您細說因由：

日期：2004年3月7日（農曆2月17日） 時間：上午十時開始
內容：恭誦《楞嚴經觀世音菩薩成道品》恭誦《法華經觀世音菩薩普門品》觀音菩薩蒙觀音如來授如幻，聞薰聞修金剛三昧，耳根圓通，故成三十二應化身"普門"行願利生。

大覺寺飲水思源－清明法會

日期：2004年4月4日（農曆2月15日） 時間：上午十時開始
內容：恭誦《地藏菩薩本願功德經》地藏經云：聞名、見形、或讚歎、或瞻禮、或稱名作禮、或供養、或燃油燈、乃至彩繪刻鏤，塑漆形像，方便多門，以此功德、回向先人生天、往生極樂，不墮三途，病者得瘥，生者福報不可稱量。

．法會期間設有消災、超度、薦拔、點燈，功德隨喜 
．法會當日備有交通車往返法拉盛，務請事先登記 
．本寺提供光明燈、本命年長生牌位、往生牌位，供奉請來電詳洽

性空法師主持莊嚴四月禪八

禪修主題

本禪修課程將由性空法師講解中阿含經119卷的隨身念住經，依著佛陀所流傳下來的這個教法，帶領我們趨向涅槃、解脫。性空法師將以中文、英文指導本禪修。

禪師簡介

性空法師為捷克人，出家學習南傳、錫蘭、緬甸教法已18年，法師精通梵文及中國哲學。他致力於翻譯佛書及著作法文及捷克文佛書，他擁有非常多次指導禪修的經驗，幫助過許多的學員修學止與觀。

禪修須知

禪修從4月17日早上至4月24日中午，我們將取消4月18日的週日英文禪修班。參加學員只能選擇"參加全程"或"4月17、18兩天"。性空法師將於前兩天非常詳細的教導打坐的方法。所有學員必須要在4月16日下午7點前完成報到手績。我們的名額只有30名。

• 為保持禪修不受干擾，恕不接受中途插班隨喜，請選擇參加全程或週末兩天。 
• 本寺提供您一個禪修的好機會，禪修費用歡迎隨喜樂捐。 
• 請向本寺服務台索取報名表，儘早報名；並遵守禪修規則。

April Meditation Retreat with Ven. Dhammadipa 

Time: 4/17/2004 ~ 4/24/2004

Theme of the retreat: 

A guest teacher, Ven. Dhammadipa, or better known as 性空法師 will come to the Chuang-yen Monastery to conduct a Mindfulness meditation retreat from 4/17 - 4/24. The theme of the retreat is the Buddhist practice of body mindfulness that leads to Nirvana and will use the "Kayagatasati Sutta: Mindfulness of the Body 隨身念住經", the 119 sutta of the Mid-length Discourses of the Buddha (Majjhima Nikaya) as the guiding text from Buddha. He will conduct the retreat in both English and Chinese. ?

Introduction of Ven. Dhammadipa: 

Ven. Dhammadipa was born in Czech and has been a monk for 18 years in the lineage of the Southern Schools of Buddhism in Sri Lanka and Burma (Myanmar). He is a learned scholar of Buddhism as well as Sanscript and Chinese philosophy. He has been writing and translating Buddhist text into French and Czech and has conducted meditation retreats on Samantha and Vipassana methods.

Retreat Requirements: 

The duration of the retreat is from 4/17 morning to 4/24 noon. We will close the monastery to the Sunday English program on 4/18. Students are encouraged to join full time or the first two days (4/17-4/18). The teacher will focus on the teaching of the meditation methods in the first two days to help the two-day students. Students are expected to arrive at the Monastery in the evening of 4/16. There is a limit of 30 students for the retreat.

• For the retreat to run smoothly, random participation will not be accepted. Please choose to join full time or the first 2 days.
• CYM provides you a good opportunity to practice mindfulness. Please support this retreat with generous donations.
• Application form can be obtained from the front desk. Please send in your application early. Students are expected to follow the rules during retreat.
